My opinion would be to go back to a 1990-1993 or 1997 and newer Saab. You would get a better price for the older car with all the refinements that went into the end of the model. You would get a newer car with the 1997 and most of the problems of a model change should have been fixed. The 1997 also has a hydraulic clutch, the 1995 uses a cable clutch. I have a personal preference for the older design: no lip in the back, hydraulic clutch, better visibility etc. Other will say the New model is better: better ride, power, options etc. You should test drive both and make up your own mind. You also mentioned affordable as being a criteria. No one on this forum will say Saab maintenance is inexpensive. Most people drive Saab because they love them. Logic plays no part and the cost of maintenance is the price of having fun. Many people do their own work for the pleasure and it reduces the cost. Once you drive a Saab, you will want one. > > > I'm a bit weary of dealing with a 'non-official' car dealership.... > > Thanks alot, > > myron
