The Saab(ford) V4 has balance shaft(s) to deal with this unbalance problem. It has been 20 years since I have worked on one, so I do not remember if it is a 60 deg bank angle or a 90, but regardless, this is it. The US manufacturers have had 90 deg V6 engines for many years (early 60's at least) and precious few 60 degree V6's. The reason is that many of the v6 blocks are shortened v8 blocks. The US mfrs did not use balance shafts, but had odd firing order and some later had split crank throws to give the compromised engines an even firing order. The US mfrs were more concerned about using the same or similar tooling and other build components instead of making a proper v6. Besides, the high dollar and desirable cars had v8's. The v6's were reserved for the stripped entry level cars anyway.
