Simple practicality - do you need to carry any luggage? If so, have a look at the boots (trunks for you Yanks) of the C70 and 9-3, and then decide for yourself - the Volvo's boot is almost nonexistant as the hood container is a solid fixed bulkhead - you would have trouble fitting a weeks shopping in there, let alone a suitcase or two - the Saab however has a retractable fabric container, which when lifted out the way almost doubles the boot space - and to add to the fun the back seats fold down to allow wide long loads.
