I have exactly the same situation (problem?) on my 87 900 Turbo. So, I guess it was ment to be this way. It is quite annoying though. My 85 900 S dashboard switched on when lights went on, much more sensible. I live in NYC (streets are lit) and have forgotten to switch the headlights on some nights because my dash is illuminated. I have owned the '87 for over 2 years and always thought that someone had screwed with the electrical system. Any other 87s out there to confirm that this is the norm? Anyone know a painless way to re-wire the dashboard so that it is only on when lights are on?
