Spend the money and use a synthetic.
It may just be a personal preference as to which one, but my 4X4 94 Ranger
has never seen anything but Mobil 1, except for what it came with.
It has 114 k on it so far, and is going strong.  At least the motor is.

All cars are way to expensive to skimp on oil.
