Huh? I'm not sure what you mean from your last paragraph. From my reading, it is stating the obvious i.e. "replacing it won't make any difference unless it was faulty, in which case there will be a difference." Please expand on what you mean. Mine too (a 1996 NG900) is extremely stiff - so much so that you can't really sit in traffic even for a few seconds without knocking it into neutral just to take the strain off your leg. Maybe a new cable might make a difference, but if it was solely due to this then I find it hard to believe the cable hasn't snapped long ago. What the hell can I do, without shelling out a great deal of money? Driving it on open roads is fine, but around town is fairly miserable - but you get used to it. My left leg is so well built by now I tend to walk in circles. CTW
