Does the word sludge mean anything,? You need the change the oil - period. If you can't do it yourself in the winter, take it to a garage and pay $20. The alternative would be to time your oil changes so you do them in the spring and fall, instead of the summer and winter. You could always use Mobil 1 if you want to extend your oil change interval.
