How about a Saab, Volvo and Toyota? Each has it good points and bad points. The Volvo's good point is its safety and durability, 20 years and counting - an excellent car for a beginning driver. The Saab is an inexpensive 3-door and is a fun car to drive. The Toyota is a minivan - enough said when it is time for soccer car pool. And believe it or not, I was looking a a BMW 325i recently :-).
