As one who has owned Saab's since 1968, this thread is interesting, but laced with emotional and irrational outbursts. Saab's are not for everyone. It you like them fine, if not fine. To each his (or her) own . . . Toyota's are reliable . . . that being said, I just rented a 2001 Camry for a 600 mile drive. And, the seats killed my 54 year old back on the long drive, whereas the Saab seats never cause any back pain. However, one rather important financial factor that Toyota has over any Saab model is depreciation. Purchase a new Saab and see what a dealer (including your Saab dealer) offers you after three years. Compare that to a Toyota (or Honda), you will see how much it realistically costs you to own a Saab. Saab's historically depreciate much, much faster than many other marques, especially the Japanese marques. That's why I keep my Saab's forever, and why I tend to buy used Saab's rather than new ones.
