Subject: Power steering noise



We're looking at an Saab 9000 CS with 151.000 Km. During a short testdrive
we noticed an humming noice when steering. This was due to the
powersteering. The vendor said that this was due to a stand still of
4months. I checked the oil level and it was way to low.

1/ Is it necessary to fill up the power steering oil or does this point to a
leak in the system?
2/ Is the noice due to the low level, or am I looking at mayor defects on
the steering system?
