Subject: Anyone else with a 900S tranny problem

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_003A_01C15A57.0A22EC40 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello Group --=20 I have a 1992 Saab 900S Convertible currently in the shop (a not very = local dealership) for a new transmission. When I first brought the car = to them, they told me that they would need to order the new = transmission, which would take four business days and then it would = require about another two days of work -- for a total time of a little = over a week. Not a problem....and they were giving me a loaner to boot. Well, almost two weeks later, they call and tell me that the = transmission has yet to arrive and would take another 21 to 28 days to = get there. This was almost two weeks ago. Has anyone else had any troubles getting a transmission lately? The = dealership claims that there are no trannies anywhere in the US. But, = it seems like 6 weeks to get a transmission is a little excessive. On = top of that, they want their loaner car back -- which I have managed to = put off for two weeks (as I mentioned, I live a little bit of a distance = from the dealership). On the other hand, I really don't want to be = without a car for the next two or three weeks -- and what scares me = more, is that after 28 days, will they tell me that the transmission = STILL isn't there? If you can tell me anything, please either e-mail, or post here. Thanks, Steve ------=_NextPart_000_003A_01C15A57.0A22EC40 Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Dwindows-1252" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2314.1000" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">Hello Group -- </FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">I have a 1992 Saab 900S = Convertible=20 currently in the shop (a not very local dealership) for a new=20 transmission.  When I first brought the car to them, they told me = that they=20 would need to order the new transmission, which would take four business = days=20 and then it would require about another two days of work -- for a total = time of=20 a little over a week.  Not a problem....and they were giving me a = loaner to=20 boot.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">Well, almost two weeks later, they = call and=20 tell me that the transmission has yet to arrive and would take another = 21 to 28=20 days to get there.  This was almost two weeks ago.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">Has anyone else had any troubles = getting a=20 transmission lately?  The dealership claims that there are no = trannies=20 anywhere in the US.  But, it seems like 6 weeks to get a = transmission is a=20 little excessive.  On top of that, they want their loaner car back = -- which=20 I have managed to put off for two weeks (as I mentioned, I live a little = bit of=20 a distance from the dealership).  On the other hand, I really don't = want to=20 be without a car for the next two or three weeks -- and what scares me = more, is=20 that after 28 days, will they tell me that the transmission STILL isn't=20 there?</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">If you can tell me anything, = please either=20 e-mail, or post here.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">Thanks,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Bookman Old Style">Steve</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_003A_01C15A57.0A22EC40--
