Yeah, and meanwhile Chevy Cavaliers sell like hotcakes. I guess that proves that Cavaliers are great cars, right? The entire market shifted away from sports cars, and toward trucks. The American icon Corvette was in a much better position to weather the storm. The vast majority of the American public has no idea what a Supra is, and only see that it's a Toyota, so the Supra has a terrible prestige-per-dollar ratio. Most Americans are very image-minded, and those who spend $40k+ for a car want more prestige than what driving a Toyota offers. Bottom line, how well a car sells is essentially zero evidence of how capable it is.
