The old style was mechanical and had a metal tube that attached to the evap tube. The newer style(s) are electronic and have two small wires that go to a temp bulb that attaches to the evap tube. You have discovered that the connectors are different. Saab makes an adaptor harness to hook the new style into the older cars (at least for the LHD USA market). However, as I remember, the harness by itself was almost as expensive as the kit, which contains both the sensor and the harness.
