I've got a 95 900SE and had the same problem a while ago. My clutch was so stiff it snapped the cable. According to my local Saab dealer the clutch was on the way out so I had it replaced. After that the clutch was perfect. still a little heavy, but not cable snapping heavy. Something to be aware of however is that there are a pair of nylon bushes on the pressure plate lever inside the gearbox bell-housing. If these are worn and you replace the clutch, the reduction in pressure will cause the clutch to creak when the engine gets warm. If you're like me, it will drive you nuts. Happy driving. Peter W.
