Hey Mike- It took me about 6 months with mine to realize that it's really only a noticeable feature if the volume is on the lower end to start with. If you're playing music at medium-higher volume to start, there is no effect. But, if you've got it low and you drop speed from 55 to 45 to 35, you'll notice it. If you don't, it's likely defective.
