This is splitting hairs, but saying that "AMSOIL lubricants meet the current API Service requirements" and saying that they are API certified (as required by the manufacturer's warranty) are not the same thing. I have not looked specifically at the packaging on AMSOIL lubricants but if the package says "American Petroleum Institute Certified " AND has a circular mark that says "API SJ" then you should be covered by the auto manufacturer and oil company's warranties if you follow whichever one requires more frequent oil and filter changes. If it does not say "American Petroleum Institute Certified " AND have a circular mark that says "API SJ" then you're only covered by the oil company's warranty.
