Check and replace the fluid it's cheap and easy to do You will have to bleed the system. BUT I really doubt that this alone will heal your problem. It does sound like it's time for a new clutch. Even if the friction plate isn't completely worm some of the other components of the clutch could be and attribute to the slip. A new clutch will include these parts so go for it. The cost I'd estimate will be between $300- $400 Bit of advise. Have it done or do it right. Don't just change the friction plate have the bearing done and look at the shaft as well while the tranny is down.
