Synthetic never breaks down? And you never have to change it? Seems like
Amsoil recommends changing theirs once a year, provided you use their oil
filter and change it twice a year. The website says this:
AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils are highly resistant to the destructive effects
of heat, and do not break down like petroleum oils. This means that AMSOIL
Motor Oils can provide much longer drain intervals than conventional
lubricants.
That does not say it doesn't break down. Even if you manage to keep it
perfectly clean, I find it hard to believe that it doesn't brake down any
all.........
This does sound like snake oil, but I'm not sure it is coming from
Amsoil.............
