thanks everyone for the suggestions.  i got up under there (luckily i'm small
and thin) and everything you all told me to check was fine.  i took it back to
my garage and found out that the new relay switch they put in was defective so
they put another one in, changed my oil for free and cleaned up the inside. 
overall i was happy.  one less thing i have to do this month.
