My 98 9-5SE will soon need new tyres (at around only 60,000 km). It came with Michelin Pilot MXV3A HA 215/55 R16 tyres which Michelin say are no longer made and none left in stock. I'm not all that impressed with the tyres: they made a loud drumming noise on some of the Qld roads paved with larger sized aggregate, and have only done 55000 km so far. They are OK on the smoother Sydney roads. I've done a bit of checking but no-one is prepared to recommend the most suitable replacement tyre, of whatever brand. I've had Michelin MXM, Pirelli P6000 and Goodyear Eagle mentioned as possibles, but no-one has any idea of the relative suitability and performance.
