I can see the thermostat, now. The dealer told me that it leaks. It doesn't. The leak of antifreeze comes from the front of the engine, a little above the water pump. Looks as if it comes from the engine block but I can't get into that spot without removing the power steering pump. I had the car at the dealer, they looked at the leak, and I was told by a mechanic ( a long-redhaired Harley rider) that I need to change the hoses. The car only has 47,000 miles on it. I guess this guy wants to hose ME down. I have 173,000 miles on a Nissan and it never had its hoses changed. Are there any freeze plugs in the block below the head above the water pump that could leak antifreeze? It only drips a little when I park the car.
