I experienced this same problem and it ended up being the Wheel bearings. Found a new FAG (brand) Bearing for $60.00 bucks had it pressed on and the problem is now gone. A sure good way to determine if this is the problem is to jack up the front and give a good tug on the tire and if there is a little bit of play on the hub then it is the wheelbearings. There should be no play at all. Also mine seemed to come and go at first and would lesson when I applied the brakes. Whats weird is that it always sounded like it was coming from the back but when I checked it it was the front wheel-bearings.
