The steering system (rack) wears out and leaks fluid. You can keep it going
longer by adding fluid as often as it needs it. Maybe even longer by
changing the fluid (drain tank, fill with fluid, run for a day or so, drain
tank, fill with fluid...) Eventually the rack may have to be replaced which
is not cheap.
My wife's 85 900 turbo needs fluid once every couple months or so.
Sunroof motor is under trunk floor all the way in the back of the vehicle,
just ahead of the rear bumper. There is a cable from there up through to the
sun roof.
