Subject: Re: Importing a SAAB into UK ?

I looked at an import Aero, until speaking to a couple of local dealers, both Saab and non-Saab, they said they wouldn't touch an import with a very long bargepole, and currently, imports are trading at upto 2.5k UNDER list price on resale - so depreication is going to be much worse. Of course this isn't a problem if you're planning on keeping the car for a while. My local Saab dealer also said they would service and import, but that they couldn't guarantee keeping to their fixed-price policy. In all I decided that the money I might save from importing would be negated by extra monies required elsewhere (higher insurance on imports - at least, that was true for the companies I spoke to), plus the hassles that seem to surround the ownership possibilities.
