Lee - Seems like there are several very predictable things that go wrong with C900's so you need to determine which side of those things you are on....Also if you do your own work you won't be as scared off by the prices of things. The transmission will need some work eventually you have to yank the engine to do the work. I changed the lube in my tranny every 30K and I think it is in pretty good shape at 180K but that doesn't really make anyone want to buy the car (It's rusty and people are scared off ). I had an 84 that started popping out of gear which is why I kept after the fluid so well. The timing chain will also need attention, mine is still hanging in there, but if it goes it takes out the valves. The fuel system including computer, pump(s), relays needed a lot of work in mine (and stranded me twice). If it's an original fuel pump you can expect that to go.. mine went at 140K computer went at 178K. My clutch is original and I think the engine needs to come out for that too? My rack is original but I've heard stories about that going too, I greased the u-joints going down to it and maybe that helped. The headliner will fall down, so you have to decide how much you want to spend on that. There belt drive pulley delaminates, which means belt squeal might not just be the belt slipping on the pulley, rather it is the pulley coming apart! I've never had any head gasket issues, but I think there might be some sort of seal leaking slightly. I'm told that is $400 to fix that. I inherited an car with half the miles on it so I just have to let go of the SAAB which is really tough for me. -Dan lbonner222nopsaml.msn.com wrote: > I am looking at the above.
