You can do the rear brakes yourself. Ask around, I'm sure you have a friend or two who have done the job themselves. A service / repair manual would be an invaluable resource since most will give you step be step instructions with pictures and diagrams. Most also have a troubleshooting or diagnose your problem section. Go to your local parts store if they don't have the manual they can probably order it. You may even find some online resources, its worth a try anyway.
