I'm talking about the little indicator bar on the >switch here. Minor yes, at 4500 miles it should work. There are two small bulbs in each of the switches. One bulb illuminates the thumb wheel and one illuminates the pictogram on the switch. Very common and yet easy repair. Pop the switch and replace the offending bulb. There is one on each side of the switch. A 1/4 turn and it is out. >2. Weather band doesn't function. The Saab radios on 94->900, 9-3, and 9-5 have a European mode. While in this mode, the WB WILL NOT work. The other clue is the AM tuner. In Euro mode, the AM tuner will advance in odd increments like 571, 573, 575 KHZ. In US mode, the AM tuner will advance by increment of 10 like, 570, 580, 590 KHZ. The fix is very easy. With the radio off, push in on the middle of the seek/tune button and hold it in. Now turn on the radio and release the button. OK your are done. You can toggle back and forth by doing this. >3. The rep says this is "normal", I once again >say bull. Easy, drive a couple of 2001 Aero Auto trans cars (no fair comparing to a man trans car as it has more torque and the overboost function or a 2002 Aero which has 20 more HP :) ) and see what it feels like. However, remember, when you push on the gas pedal, you, the driver, DO NOT control the throttle opening. You are just another input into the computer (T-7 in this case). The T-7 actually controls the throttle opening. Also there is a function called Differential Protection System (DPS) that is in the T-7 of all 9-5 auto trans cars that limits engine torque during wheelspin. This is different than TCS in that TCS can/will apply brakes in order to correct wheel spin. DPS is not disabled by turning off TCS. >Anyone else experiencing such problems? > >All in all I'm pleased with the car, I am having my doubts about the >dealership.
