I've had many cars and only Saabs didn't need belt change :) Both of them were (are) classic 900's and have chain instead of belt. I believe that most new cars today do need this change 'cause they have belts instead of chains which makes a little more noise. Some Opels (Vauxhalls) needs this belt changed every 30 000 km.
