Subject: Re: 9-3 or 9-5............

I've had a 9-5 estate for about 14 months having previously had a 900 and agree with other sentiments that the 9-5 is much more of a car than the 9-3. ALthough the Aero will go like on steroids, the 9-5 is an excellent machine. When I first test drove a 9-5 2.0lpt in early 2000 the power off the engine was great. When I finally got my hands on one in October 2000 I found that the engine had been tweaked to give more torque. My local dealer tells me the 2002 model has more again. I got the dealer to add the sports chip (I ordered it before I got the car and now feel that I could have lived without it), but it boosts the output to 185bhp from the 150bhp. It is a fast car - no doubt and averages 30mpg on an urban commute with 80+mph on a motorway for about 15minutes. You do get a lot more on the 9-5 - like dual zone ACC and v. comfortable seats....plus all the other stuff you already know about! Remember too that they've just uprated the 2002 9-5 and that the 9-3 is due for a change in September this year.
