The next step would seem to be a call to Car Talk! Brake fluid gets "tired" - it loses it's hydraulic ability, and if there is an air leak in the system and the fluid gets airaeted you will lose lots of braking performance - soft pedal with reduced braking efficiency. If your fluid hasn't been changed in a while (check the service schedule for when that is) or you can see bubbles in the fluid then change the fluid. It's not particularly expensive or difficult. Bleed the system thoroughly after changing. May need bleeding now anyway, if the pedal feels soft and has a lot of travel. Glazed discs and pads are not uncommon and would also cause braking efficiency to be compromised, as would a leak in the master cyclinder. -- Regards, Danny http://www.gaggia-espresso.com (a purely hobby site) http://www.dannyscoffee.com (UK advert for my mobile espresso service) swap Z for above characters in email address to reply
