Subject: Home tire pumps

The 'new' 1997 900 has the first low profile tires I've used - and I can't say the combination thrills me. Lose a little bit of pressure, trash the tires and get to pay a lot more for replacements. Anyway, I used to top off the tires with a bike pump, but my very good quality bike pump has a twist chuck that pretty much requires I manage to park with all four stems at the top to work comfortably, due to the twisting required and the particular wheels on the car. I'm working on parking it that way, but my wife gets irritated with the Saab being left in odd positions in the driveway... Anyway, I haven't had a electric pump for my cars since when I had too many and I used a pump attached to a 'Swiss knife' emergency thing (plugged to wall, plugged to lighter, flash light, flashers and a tire pump), which has since given up the ghost. Considering how hard it worked to pump up a single tire, it can now rest in peace. But what good quality home electric pumps are people using? I figure some of you out there with three or four Saabs, and one that sits more than it drives, probably have some experience in that area. Curtis L. Russell Odenton, MD.
