Winter tyres/tires, with or without studs. Don't even try to use
summer tyres/tires or those stupid (and impossible to make) "all
season" tyres/tires that seems to be available in the US.

Don't even think about it. The rubber on those tyres/tires hardens
in the cold and you will have almost no grip at all in the snow (and
none on ice). It doesn't matter what car those tyres/tires are mounted
on. You have to use tyres/tires with rubber designed to stay soft in
the cold.
