The only thing the brakes need to slow down are the spinning wheels, not your entire car. And the rotation energy of a spinning wheel is a big lot less, than the motion energy of your car and the rotation energies of the wheels put together. Besides: if the TCS is kicking in all the time, it would be a good idea to reduce throttle. Otherwise a lot of energy is waisted and you will not drive any faster.
