Daryl Mark Krzewinski <nobodynopsamtos.net> pressed random keys until the following was produced: > Just a note Guy: 6000 degrees K is about 10,340 degrees Fahrenheit. Well, you may be confusing temperature with heat. They're related, but you can have something at a high temerature that doesn't have alot of heat. So, the filament may be at a really, really high temperature, but there's not very much of it. It's a similar concept to what you can try with a butane lighter - yes, it's on fire, but you can put your hand through the flame. Temperature is high, but there's not much heat there. Another way to look at it - the fuel/air combustion in your engine has a high temperature, way higher than the melting point of steel, yet your engine does not melt. Dave Hinz
