I wouln't rely on a mileage-use your ears instead! The moment you suspect *any * noise from the chains, get them replaced, as its a lot cheaper than the consequences of a broken chain. Don't expect to hear them from inside the car either. Replace all chains, sprockets etc as its dosen't pay to skimp on this job. You may well discover other jobs during the strip down, such as worn idler pulley bearings, water pump leaks.
