If that assumption is correct, I continue to think that it's odd that no other car manufacturer in the world accepts the safety and ergonomic reasons that have been explained to me. However, I do agree that I was wrong in describing as inexplicable the Saab positioning of the key between the seats. There DOES seem to be a reasonable explanation. However, it's to be found in Saab tradition -- just as the aerodynamically inexplicable Rolls-Royce radiator grill is explicable in terms of tradition.
