Subject: Re: when is the new 9-3 Wagon (Estate) there?

>European Car magasine just had a short paragraph about the new 9-3, >which will be coming to the USA in the summer of 2002 as a 2003 model. >They did say that a Wagon will be available, but did not elaborate. >The Wagon will have an AWD option and a "raised suspension" option, >whatever that implies. Sounds interesting. John, I'd be very curious to know what exactly the magazine had to say - I had a quick look at the website, but couldbn't find any refernce to it (having said that I caould be being blind as a bat!) Could you possibly expound on your above comments? I'm dying to pick up any info that any magazine has about the new 9-3. "Car" Magazine in the UK had an article about the future of GM and Saab in particular, and spoke about the relaitonships between Opel/Vauxhall and Saab in the usage of the new Epsilon chassis, once again shared between the 9-3 and the Vectra. They also went on the say that Bob Lutz, the new head of GM thinks the new 9-3 is fantastic, and has picked a Saab for his company car (a 9-5 Aero I assume!) The only other tit-bit of information they had was that supposedly from launch in the UK, there will be three engines immediately available - 150bhp lpt 2.0 4-cyl, 218bhp 2.0 Full Turbo 4cyl and a 250bhp Full Turbo 4-cyl of unspecified capacity - I assume that means the 2.3 turbo from the 9-5 Aero. They also confirm there will be a 4 wheel drive version at a later date, possibly with the 2.8 V6 Turbo from the 9X concept - with something approaching 400bhp! Sounds good to me! Anyway, any more info you can share on the subject would be gratefully received, perhaps you could even type up the relevant bits, or point us in the direction of an online copy of the article? Many thanks. H.
