I think the dealer needs to be a lot sharper than just "this is common with SAAB turbos". It may be or it may not be, but what the heck, it is not his $400! Besides, that red piece is not a turbo control part, it's a direct ignition cassette (DI); he's filling you with codswallop. Better to get a fault code readout. It should be possible to shop around for a brand new DI unit for a lot less money (look in mags) and it is dead easy to plug in as DIY, but as said it might not be necessary. Johannes
