My '96 900set skips, misfires if engine is warm (before cooldown, restarting after car sits a short time, as in running errands, etc.). Just had the 95k mile service done (tune up, fluid changes, etc.), took it back to the dealer, was told it was a turbo control part (red piece that sits on top of engine) that needs replacing at the tune of $400.00. The dealer said this is common with SAAB turbos. After sinking lots of money into this car, I am not a happy camper. Does anyone out there have an idea or suggestion, is this part (which I don't remember the name) installable by a novice backyard mechanic? Thanks for any help you can give.
