I have a 1996 9000 CS and the shift pattern is on the insert in the top of the knob. It's stuck in with two sided sticky foam tape. The original tape stopped sticking so I had to replace it. The replacement has worked fine for a couple of years. So you should be able to pry the insert out of the top of the knob and reverse it. I would use new tape.
