Aren't you protected by all of those laws on the books? :-) Just kidding. >I feel safe where I drive, in Virginia. I don't have or need this automatic lock >feature on any of my cars. All those silly laws count for sod all - in the second case, I had to reverse away from the car that had blocked me, and then floor it through a red traffic light - sod's law, the lights had cameras and I had a lovely photo taken of my car. I went straight to the local police station, reported what had happened, including one of the gang trying to get through my convertible roof with a large knife....... and was lectured for ten minutes on the rules of red lights and how I shoul;dn't have done that........ stupid fools. However, I do agree that car-jacking's are hyped - yes we are now more aware, yes such things do happen, but indeed the media have latched onto the phrase as the latest favourite bit of sensationalism. I only know of one other person who has been car-jacked, so taking all my friends and family and colleagues to compile a percintile, thankfully carjacking is still rare!
