Subject: Re: 9-3 owner info?

I don't know about the 0% at this point now that the economy is picking up (are you in the U.S.?) I got a year-end deal 12/1/01 on a 2001 Viggen for basically U.S. $6K off the sticker (around $33K) and the 0% for 36 months. If you can find a 2001 Viggen on a lot you may do similiarly well. On the 2002 I doubt they're making those kind of deals as the number of Viggens available is small, and with the new 9-3 coming out it may be 2 years before another super-tweaked 9-3 (the next Viggen) will actually be available. However, I've seen on Saab Net (www.saabnet.com) people getting deals on loaded '02 9-3SEs for less than $26K U.S. This is a killer car for that kind of money and "loaded" is exactly what that means. I don't think you can go wrong with the 9-3SE. My first car was an '82 Jetta, and it made me a fan of the style and feel of European cars, but the Saab has definitely taken that to a new level. I've only driven an A4 1.8t and while it's a very nice car, it's not nearly as fast as a 9-3, and you can't touch the features on the 9-3SE deals going on right now with the Audi. The hatch offers great hauling capacity and versatility. Off the line, the 9-3 and Viggen are lacking, but for rolling acceleration (30-????) is stunning. Torque steer is there, but you'll learn the car and then not really notice it, unless you race from light to light. The Viggen can be squirrely in first and second if you are really punching it - definitely demands your attention. "Hello. My name is John, and I am a turbo addict."
