Typical failure when poor quality coolant is used over a long period of time. It is pretty do-able. Look to www.saabnet.com under FAQ and the C900 BB also at www.townsendimports.com there is a lot of good information about head gaskets and also http://www.twinsaabs.com/ under DIY headgasket. I just did this in Dec on my '92 C900T. It probably failed due to corrosion of the head gasket near CYL #1. Not too tough, actually, if you have done a head gasket before. Make sure that you use Mercedes coolant after you put it back together. You get it at the MB dealer or the Chrysler dealer. Good luck KeithG "Dale James" <dalenopsammu.edu> wrote in message news:a77vff$bdl$1nopsampberry.srv.cs.cmu.edu... > Has anyone out there ever replaced the head gasket on an older (1985) 900 > model?
