I've done the switch on 2 saabs, a 1987 9kt, 140kmiles, and a 1986 90016vT. Switched from ??? mineral to Mobil1 fully synth, both a couple of years ago. Had immediate leakage problems on both cars, but much worse on the 9k, to the point where I had to change the crank seals in order to carry on driving it. This was all within weeks of switching oil. Given the hassles I've had in the past, I wouldn't do it again. I am very pro-synth, it's a much better product. Especially important on turbo cars. However, I'm not sure that the advangages outweigh the possible consequences in the case of older cars. Grunff
