The signal from the head unit is righ and left front, and right and left rear. The amplifier contains the filters and outputs seven or nine signals for the speakers. > Could you still tell me briefly where is the best way for the wires ? I don't know exactly where the wires are routed, but the amplifier is mounted by the front passengers feet, below the A pillar near the wheel. This is probably the easiest place to find the wires. The wires connect to the amplifier using one big connector. The balanced low level signals should be twisted. The big connector has two rows of pins. The first row starts with two large red wires and is numbered 1 through 20. The second row starts with two large black wires and is numbered 21 through 39. With this reference you should be able to find: Line in right front at pins 3 (red) and 23 (blue). Line in left front at pins 4 (blue/white) and 24 (red/white). Line in right rear at pins 5 (grey) and 25 (brown/red). Line in keft rear at pins 6 (yellow/white) and 26 (orange/white). Mute control at pin 11 (black/white). Amplifier on control at pin 12 (green). > Is it possible to use some existant wires for a rear cd-changer that I > will never need ? (If they exist..) The wires for the CD changer is already there, but there is obviously no audio output going from the head unit back to the CD changer. :-/ The wires for the CD changer is power (two wires), I-BUS (two twisted wires), and audio (two times two twisted wires) from CD changer. The control information between the head unit and the CD changer is done through the I-BUS (a CAN bus, like a local area network). You do not want to mess with those wires! In theory you could steal the twisted audio wires, connect them to the existing output wires at the head unit, and place your balanced-to-single-ended converter where the CD changer should be. Why not install a CD changer instead? Just as a reference: Speakers for AS2 (Pioneer) Instrument panel left/right 3.5" 4.1 ohm 2 * 15W midrange/treble Instrument panel center 2.5" 4.8 ohm 5W Front doors 6.5" 1.8 ohm 2 * 25W bass Rear doors 4.0" 3.6 ohm 2 * 15W midrange/treble Speakers for AS3 (Harman Kardon) Instrument panel left/right 2.5" 2.5 ohm 2 * 16W midrange/treble Instrument panel center 2.5" 5.9 ohm 16W Front doors 6.5" 2.4 ohm 2 * 22W midrange/bass Rear doors 2.5" 2.5 ohm 2 * 16W midrange/treble Subwoofer 6"*9" 2.0 ohm 2 * 22W sub-bass Note the odd impedances. It is not easy to just swap speakers around in AS2 and AS3 systems... -- G–ran Larsson http://www.nospam.com
