Thanks Keith. About the A/C, it doesn't seem like a problem with the freon. When I turn on the A/C, nothing happens. There should be an increased load on the engine, but there isn't, which means the "clutch" or whatever it is inside the compressor is not activating. I checked the fuse and it was ok. If it were low on freon, shouldn't it still engage? Or is there some kind of safety device built in to override the compressor when the system is low on freon? I asked the lady if she let the car idle before shutting it off to spin down the turbo and she said she didn't. She said it was unncecessary with the "newer" old saabs. Does this seem right?
