9-5 Gearbox. (UK) My 1999 9-5 2.3 SE (37,000 Miles) has started to play around; It's incredibly difficult to select reverse gear, I have to rock the car by selecting 1st gear, or just fight with it, to get it to select. The dealer has ordered parts from Saab and will perform the works under the warranty (complete gear box strip down), and will need the car for 2(ish) days (oh great). So far I've been waiting over a week for the parts to arrive. My previous vehicle was a 9-3 2.2 TiD, this developed a problem (fuel seals), which required parts (again under warranty), after 2 weeks wait, I gave in and traded up to the 9-5. I just could not drive the pile of poo I was given as a "loan" car, any longer. Questions:- Why are Saab parts so difficult for a dealer to source in the UK? Anybody else had or know of problems to do with the gearbox on the 9-5? Any other gotcha's on the 9-5 or Saabs that I should be aware of? Should I be complaining direct to Saab (UK)? Thanks.
