Subject: Re: 1999 9-3

BlankG'Day [long time lurker, first time poster] I'd like to second Apuch's question ... I'm in exactly the same situation: wanting to get a 1999 Saab 9-3. I'm looking at a 4-door auto 2L low pressure turbo version. Is there anything fundamentally wrong with Saabs of that year and make, glitches, bugs, etc? Anything endemic to that model of that year? I've spent lots of time on www.epinions.com and MSN CarPoint having a look and things do look good - I'd just thought I'd throw it open to the gang here as a last look see. Maybe some tips of things to look for/ask about/watch out for in that year and model? (for what it's worth, in Australia, 1999 9-3's are around AUS$30,000 (say, US$15,000-$16,000) and come with a 2yr/40,000km Saab warranty). Many thanks The Good Doctor Salami http://www.mywirelesspalm.com "Apuch" <jmillard2nopsamast.net> wrote in message news:YH4q8.183566$Gf.17274436nopsam.nnrp.aus1.giganews.com... Hello, New here and new to Saabs (maybe). I have been looking into a new or used car and Saab is one car that I like. I test drove a 1999 9-3 today with my fiance and liked it. It is a lease car for resale from a dealer and listed at 17,900 which seems rather reasonable considering the sticker prices of new Saabs. My question is this. Is there anything fundamentally wrong with Saabs of that year and make, glitches, bugs, etc. My fiance has a Subaru which is fritzy in many ways and we have discovered that it was just endemic of that model of that year and that situation is what I would like to avoid in this next car purchase. Any input would be helpful since I have never owned a Saab before and really enjoyed the driving experience today. Thank you in advance, John feel free to post or email me directly, thanks again
