Heh heh heh, I have opened quite a can of worms, the Saab was $21,000
and just a bit expensive, so to keep payments down it would've been on
a 72 month loan, not that that is a problem because whatever I buy I
intend to be driving it in 7 years but the idea of paying for it for 7
years is what put my wife of the most I think, but I have since found
an other 99 9-5 with about the same ammound of miles for $6k less (Did
I say that already).
As for keeping the van and getting an older Saab, the problem with the
van is it is approacing 100,000 miles and is going to start costing
more per month to fix than a brand new Saab would cost on a 1 year
loan, okay maybe thats a bit of an exaggeration, also, the
transmission is bound to go out in the next 20,000 miles, and the
headlights are aimed much higer than they should be and cannot be
fixed. While keeping the can is a nice idea, and one we had thought
of, it is an unrealistic idea given our peticular situation.
I think that I could still end up in a Saab, now I am looking into
Audi A6s (Unreliable compared to the Saab but...) and VW Passats, I
like both ALMOST as much as the Saab, but maybe when the family
shrinks a bit more we can ditch those and get a Saab, so we'll see,
I'll keep reading the fourm and keep you all updated, so until later
