Subject: Clunking noise from steering

Hi all, My car (900i '92) has always made some funny noises when you put the steering wheel on a lock and then started the move. Sort of like a clunking, creaking noise coming from the front of the car. I've been told that this is very normal and actually happens on all cars but tends to be louder on Saabs because of their heavier construction. However, recently the noise has gotten more prominent, not so much in terms of volume, but now it actually happens when the wheels are only on a very slight angle. I'm hearing the noise all the time now when accelerating around corners that previously there was no noise from. Does anyone know what might be causing this and whether or not this is a problem that I need to get looked at? Thanks, Christian.
